Well, yeah....when Jimmy"The Greek" Snyder stated in 1988: "The black is a better athlete because he's been bred to be that way. During slave trading, the slave owner would breed his big woman so that he would have a big, black kid, see. That's where it all started."

But Steve Lyons pathetic, unfunny attempt at banter to make fun of Lou Pinella during Friday the 13th's American League Pennant Series match between Oakland and Detroit got him canned from the broadcast booth......

I read the comments several times over.....I dunno.....maybe I'M a racist and insensitive!! I didn't see it as anything but a poke at Lou Pinella. That's JUST WHAT IT WAS: Unfunny, and pathetic.......
I mean, former pitcher (and fellow Geography major) Bill Lee, who played for The Boston Red Sox and The Montreal Expos (now called "The Washington Gnats") wrote in his book The Wrong Stuff about a chance meeting with Los Angeles Dodgers General Manager Al Campanis and how Campanis thought he had Lee sussed:
"Lee, you'll never pitch a day in the Majors. You don't have an overhand fastball like (Sandy) Koufax, you don't have an overhand curveball like Koufax and........."
Bill Lee cut Al off at that point and stated: "........yeah, and I'm not Jewish, so I guess that's three strikes!"
Errmm.......so does that statement mean Bill Lee is Anti-Semitic??
For fuck's sake....Bill Lee is more lefty than I am.....if that's possible......
WHY do we have to create some seriously convoluted paths by reading too far into what somebody says???

Ken Lay had his convictions wiped out today.
Ahh....OK....on a legal technical ground? Flawed trial, perhaps??
Nope....
.....and this is no shit, the Judge in the case went by a lower court precedent, which held: "......that a defendant's death pending appeal extinguished his entire case because he hadn't had a full opportunity to challenge the conviction and the government shouldn't be able to punish a dead defendant or his estate."
Soooo......does that mean that....oohhh....say, Jeffrey Dahmer, who died before HIS appeals were completed.....well, or ANYBODY ELSE, for that matter, AUTOMATICALLY has their convictions vacated upon dying??
Right now...somebody is staring upwards from the Depths of Hell below (or from a tiny island in The Caribbean, for those who feel that Lay staged his own death)...and smirking at this ruling......

And thee best part? Lyons was fired by FOX network for these remarks!! So, I guess FOX NEWS guest commentator Michelle Malkin and HER comment about Islam being ".....the religion of perpetual outrage...." will ensure that she's never seen on FOX NEWS ever again for those insensitive remarks..........
